All-Metro baseball: First team
The senior led by example, batting .522 with five homers, 26 RBIs, 17 stolen bases, 29 runs scored and an .881 slugging percentage. “He combined talent with a passion for the game,” coach Paul Schiminger said, noting that Slade would hit 100 balls every day in his backyard batting cage. Slade has received a partial scholarship to the University of North Carolina-Greensboro for next year.
